this one looks wonderful, I love the colors, the expression on the face of the guy, and the spotlights on both sides of his head

Ouch, I was expecting something closer to 1/100s f/2.8 actually !!! Did you shoot with day light or used a flash ? I doubt that the flash would be very usefull at 150mm focal but if you used a flash, congratulations, you managed to keep most of the colours and the shadows.

In this recent serie I also noticed that you also managed to isolate the subjects very well. Their's no microphone tripod or anything in the field and nothing attracts the viewer's eye but the musician.

anyway, thanx for sharing !

I NEVER EVER use a flash my dear :)
I hate that to be honest cos it makes the entire picture quite flat (in my opinin)

The gig was during daylight indeed (but with heavy clouds) but the power of the lights was so overwhelming... It just made the picture perfect for me :) and yes... I know my way around with the appenture and shutterspeed... o that's easily done, I might have used a higer appenture to create more depth but this was great in my eyes :)

thank you for your lovely comment :D

Oh I never ever use a flash either, but rather because I can't control it !!! I used to think exactly like you until some one showed me something he calls "fill in"... the technique is to force the exposure speed then use the flash... then you force a pretty long exposure (nearly as long as the normal exposure without flash) and what you get is the foreground pretty much exposed neat and clear and the foreground and the light then fill the picture in because you forced a long apreture delay... therefore the shades of light prints to the foregroud and the background are nice as well...

see it like taking a picture in between the coolest picture you would get if nothing is moving at all and you've got plenty of time... and the picture you would get with an automatically exposed flash.

dosing the effect is a hell of an art... but that what the magic is all about !! :) and BTW the DOF is very nice in your pic... didn't mean tocriticize anything at all actually... I was just puzzled by the numbers compared to what one get in a dark concert room !

I know the 'fill in' technique but I really don't like the idea of working with something to enhance the picture you are taking, the piece of art you are working on to make it look all pretty and such. I know it is quite handy and such, like yesterday, the lights in a venuw where I was supposed to work was really bad, I could have might used a flash with the bounce fill in (perhaps I did if I could) but... Hmm... I stiill have second thoughts about it to be honest...

But I still need to buy a flash for school *sighs* hehehe\so maybe, when I'm working more and more with it, I might get used to it, hehe

David Coverdale = God.

His voice, I think, seems to get BETTER! (along with his hair apparently.)

I love this pic, very VERY nice work. Thankyou for posting it.
